Eden Reforestation Projects

Eden Reforestation Projects works to reduce extreme poverty within communities affected by the impact of deforestation. This is done by employing local villagers to plant trees, thereby giving them an opportunity to earn an income to support their families whilst restoring forests and reducing the negative effects brought about by their destruction.
Why is deforestation so detrimental to these communities?
To date, Eden Reforestation Projects has planted over 239 million trees at 82 project sites in Haiti, Nepal, Madagascar, Indonesia and Mozambique. The success of the projects lies in the underlying interdependence of the local communities and their environment. By employing local villagers to plant trees, the forests are able to regenerate, and support and nourish the local community once again, thus the cycle of interdependence is restored.
A belief in the interconnectedness of all living things is very much at the heart of what we do, so choosing to partner with Eden Reforestation Projects for our 'Buy One Plant One' initiative was an easy and natural choice for us.
