planting trees, one box at a time

To safeguard our forests, transitioning to tree-free alternatives at home is just the beginning. That's why, for every box you order, we're proud to plant a tree through our partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects.

So far, thousands of customers have joined us in making a positive impact by choosing tree-free toilet paper. Together, we're working towards our goal of planting 500,000 trees by 2024, and we invite you to be a part of this mission.

what Eden does...

Eden Reforestation Projects works to reduce extreme poverty within communities affected by the impact of deforestation. This is done by employing local villagers to plant trees, thereby giving them an opportunity to earn an income to support their families whilst restoring forests and reducing the negative effects brought about by their destruction.

why is deforestation so detrimental to these communities?

The destruction of healthy forest systems causes problems on a number of levels. Trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, control flooding and erosion and help to replenish the soil with nutrients needed for farming. When farmers can’t grow anything their farms fail and they have no option but to move to the overcrowded cities looking for work. Often they have to resort to selling themselves or their families into slavery just to survive.

their impact

To date, Eden Reforestation Projects has planted over 239 million trees at 82 project sites in Haiti, Nepal, Madagascar, Indonesia and Mozambique. The success of the projects lies in the underlying interdependence of the local communities and their environment. By employing local villagers to plant trees, the forests are able to regenerate, and support and nourish the local community once again, thus the cycle of interdependence is restored.
