Housed in the Grade II* listed building that was once Morris’s family home, the Gallery displays the world’s most significant collection of his work.
Morris believed that we should have nothing in our homes that we do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. At Bumboo, we take these values one step further and combine useful products with beautiful design, while being kind to the planet.
William Morris designed Strawberry Thief in 1883. As the production process used three separate printing dyes; indigo, red (alizarin) & yellow (weld), it took a number of days to produce ‘Strawberry Thief’ making it one of the firms most expensive cottons. However, it remained to be one of Morris’ most popular designs.
Featuring matching facial tissues, kitchen roll, wrapped toilet paper, and soaps... all designed using William Morris' Strawberry Thief designs.
Thoughtful everyday essentials designed to feel at home in your space.
Morris, well known for his disdain of capitalism and consumerism responded by retreating into his art, creating a natural utopia through his designs. He held nature in highest regard, saying "I must have unmistakable suggestions of gardens and fields, and strange trees, boughs and tendrils..."
We hope Morris would be pleased to know that with every purchase of our William Morris Collection, we support rewilding projects across the UK, helping nature recover.
